Totally bizarre. We had issues with the Kinshasa health department officials trying to convince us that we had to have the bikes disinfected as we'd come from Brazzaville, whereas none of the locals had to be disinfected. We did a runner. Can't remember if we told them we were going to Angola, or if we just said we were going to Matadi - but we didn't have our passports stamped in ourselves, we accidentally got the boss of immigration to get a policeman to do it for us. With regards to your DRZ400 I am thinking of getting the same bike so how many miles have you done now? Any problems other than the gearbox? any other comments you have about the bike? From your map it looks like I have done your next major bit from South America to (DR650 great bike) Alaska in 2003.
